Merger between AirTran and Southwest approved by AirTran's shareholders

An overwhelming majority of Airtran's shareholders have approved the merger between Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways. At a special meeting in Orlando, AirTran's home base, more than 98.6% of the votes cast were in favour of the transaction.
